If you’re a museum interested in creating a pattern, here’s a bit about how it works …
Museum Knits is a handknit pattern project that gives museums a great way to a) engage audiences with their collections and stories, and b) create an additional new revenue stream (ie – a percentage of all pattern sales goes to the museum). The patterns I produce are top quality, both in design and written content.
The museums I work with sell the ‘Museum Knit’ patterns in their shop and on their web store, with exclusivity for a set amount of time to maximise their profit. I’ve recently released two patterns for Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft to coincide with their founder’s exhibition which have been very successful. You can see the jumper pattern on their website.
If you’re interested in hearing more, drop me a line and I can provide you with some sales numbers.
I really think that these seemingly unrelated museums can be knitted together in new and innovative ways (excuse the pun).
